so long, america.

December 27, 2008

I am leaving for Peru in the morning. I am: half sad, half excited. It’s going to be an awesome time of roughing it in the jungle (thank God for outdoorsy friends for camping equipment!), telling people about Jesus, reciting Exodus 1-14, hiking a lot, and eating only granola bars and maybe some fruit I find in the jungle for 13 days. I am sad to leave Brandon here when I am unable to call him or email him except for when we arrive in Lima and right before we depart to come back home. Those 13 days are going to be very sad concerning my sweet husband being unreachable. Again, he and Bailey will be roomies again, so he won’t be too sad!

Pray for safety, our work with Ashaninka people group, our health, the language barrier (they do not even speak Spanish in the jungle, but their own dialect called Ashaninka… our holas and adios’ will be good for Lima only.), and please pray that people comprehend and really understand the stories and the person these stories are about.

Happy New Year a little early.

I am sitting in my parent’s office, happy as can be… just went to eat lunch with old friends. For my dad’s side of the family, we collected pictures from Christmas’ past and Dad made a DVD with music, videos, pictures, etc. and at the end, my great grandmother and her sons (my grandfather and great uncles) were added in with the elfyourself.com deal. It’s great. But, through helping him put it together, I found some good ones of Alex, Andrew, and myself. Had to share. Merry Christmas!

December 20, 2008

I am sitting on my couch, watching House with Bran, enjoying my “Christmas week off.”

Random word from the wise: do not go see “Yes Man.” You will throw up, shake your head, and then beg for your money back.

Bailey has been our roommate for the last two nights. In a little over a week, he will take my spot for two weeks while I am away.

College re-do for Brandon!

Yes, I took this picture this morning. And, yes, I thought it was sweet and “aww’d” when I saw all three toothbrushes. Don’t hate.dscn10901

It’s quite silly to keep sitting in a jail cell when the door is wide open.

December 10, 2008

go here and read about Advent Conspiracy.

Or go here and watch the video. Really read what it has to stay…listen to its story…don’t just let it go in one ear and out the other…let it break your heart for our country’s consumerism…let it change the way you think within the next few weeks of our Advent and Christmas season.
